 Spinning Cobra

The AC Cobra the original muscle car, forget the Chevrolet!  The AC Cobra 427 powered by a 7 litre Ford V8 could propel the driver from 0-60mph in a mere 3.8 seconds and go onto reach a top speed of 168mph, and this was in the 1960's!  The cobra is probably responsible for the 70mph speed limit on British motorways after it was leaked to the government that a tuned version reached 175mph on a British motorway; needless to say they promptly intorduced a speed limit:

With it's venemous performance and menecaing looks the AC Cobra was not to be underestimated!  The company logo or badge shows an upright Cobra as if ready to attack, which is represented by the performance of this machine.  Many Cobras now on the market are kit cars or replicas like the one above although they look the same not many share the performance which came from the original, which now costanything in excess of £50,000 while a really good authorised replica can cost about £15,000.  The British born design and engine was enhanced by the American racing car driver Carrol Shelby, who dropped the 7 litre lump under the bonnet, and so another great British invention was sold to the Americans.

You may have seen the film 'Bad Boys' with Will Smith and Martin Lawerence?  The film features an awesome example of a Cobra although it is beaten by a Porsche 911 and as a final humiliation written off, I'm sure when I own my original I will be able to show the Porsche up for the puny ladies car that it is!  Here is another fine example this time in my favourite colour, red:
